A good day….

IMG_2628

IMG_2645 IMG_2643

Club Quilt today….and what a day….you should see what I purchased ….we had a visit from a friend who had some fabric for sale…and boy did we get some bargains……will take some photos of my loot…..

I made some Rocky Road to take along today……my recipe is …2 large blocks of milk chocolate (Cadbury) melt over boiling water, line a slice tray with baking paper…on the bottom of the tray place some marshmallows (I use the little ones, bag of) chopped walnuts good handful, chopped glace cherries good handful, once the chocolate has melted pour over the dry ingredients, place in the fridge, then melt over boiling water 1 large white chocolate  I add just a little bit of copha helps with the spreading…once this has melted remove tray from fridge, put dollops of white chocolate on top and with a skewer stir the white chocolate thru the dark……back in the fridge to set…..and it is yummy…

My project today was Butterflies and Blossom – Leanne's House…hope to get the stitching finished tonight..

Still a few hours left for some of us with OPAM 2010 finishes…lets see what we can do……….

and thank you for all your lovely get well wishes…the wall is falling down…xx

IMG_2624

Finished work on Thursday and I was not feeling the best so I just put myself to bed..got up Friday morning had a shower, still not any better back to bed, (had the day off work I never do that) spent the day in bed…every now and again I hit what I call a brick wall and that darn wall was there, still not 100% but getting there……so no housework or work today,  I thought I needed some time with my machine….the first two photos are of a block that I have started (will show a photo tomorrow) this is for our FIS online stitching group, the fabric had been sitting there for a while and it was time to break it out of its wrapping..”Renewal” by Brannick and Patek for Moda…

OPAMers….you either have two or three days to have your January project completed…I am offering the prize for the first month and I am thinking, just thinking, we might do three giveaways…..so the next two projects which I need to finish off might be some extra little giveaways…remember please if you can email either Kris or myself and let us know about your finish, add it to your sidebar and then post about it would make life very easy for Kris I…

Have a fabulous day, remember a little bit of me time each day makes lots of finishes….

Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi…

image

On Australia Day we come together as a nation to celebrate what's great about Australia and being Australian. It's the day to reflect on what we have achieved and what we can be proud of in our great nation. It's the day for us to re-commit to making Australia an even better place for the future.

Australia Day, 26 January, is the anniversary of the arrival of the First Fleet of 11 convict ships from Great Britain, and the raising of the Union Jack at Sydney Cove by its commander Captain Arthur Phillip, in 1788.

Stitchery is finished

IMG_2605 IMG_2602 IMG_2603 IMG_2604

Boy is it hot today, around 40 or a bit more I think, I am looking forward to our afternoon swim even if it is to do exercises…..LOL...……I have completed the stitchery for my Indian Summer Cushion…it has been washed, as you can see no traces of green pen. I have been asked about buying green pens, here in Aus we can purchased them at most newsagencies…but I am sure any good stationary shop would stock these pens as well.….I have also been asked about weavline I purchase mine from Kerry…this truly is a fantastic product….

Take care……..Peg….:>)…………

My green pen…

 IMG_2598 IMG_2599 IMG_2600

IMG_2601

This is my “green pen”….this is what I use to do most of my stitcheries….and it is only the green one that works….it is a felt tip  and either the 0.4 or 0.2 are very good.

I trace the pattern onto the fabric by using a light box (home made by my son) I am not precise because it washes out. I then iron weavline on the back which is the best stuff ever. I do my stitchery, then I give it a rinse. In a bucket I half fill it with water (not cold but just a tad warm) I add either a bit of laundry soaker or wool wash, not too much just enough to make some bubbles and then I put my stitchery in there, give it a good swoosh around and let it sit there….it might stay in there 10 mins or even as long as overnight…….leaving it longer really doesn’t harm it at all (the one I finished yesterday stayed in over night)…..during that time I may go and do a few more swoosh's….. I check the stitchery if all traces of the pen are gone, empty the water, it will be a very blue/green colour….put in some clean water and rinse until all traces of detergent are gone….lie flat to dry and then give it a press………I have had one problem only removing the pen but I just gave it another soak using the laundry soaker and it came out.

Friday again….take care Peg……………:>)

Why not!

IMG_2597 IMG_2595 IMG_2596
Decided to give myself a treat…finish three projects start a new one….This is going to be an Indian summer pillow the pattern is by Crab-Apple Hill…(the finished size is 30 x 12 inches)..I purchased this as a kit about 5 years ago…..You can still see my traced pattern (I use a green artline pen) once I have completed the stitchery I give it a rinse and the pen comes out…..
Well I do hope you all have the best day…remember just take a little ‘me’ time each day..
Take Care……..Peg….:>)
I have just made a little adjustment to my post I did have Crap-Apple not Crab-Apple...I am so very sorry, that's terrible....but I am still laughing....thanks Joy (mwah)

Berry Slice – OPAM 2010 finish nearly..

IMG_2587

IMG_2514

Tonight I hope to finish this small wall hanging(I have just given it a little wash so all I have to do is give it an iron) so that will be number 3 for OPAM 2010……how close is everyone else to a finish or for some another finish?

Above is the slice I made to take to Club Quilt….just a little change or two to an apple slice I make..

Berry Slice

1 buttercake cake mix, add a handful of dried raisins,  125g of melted butter, mix well…press into a slice tin, which has been lined with baking paper sprinkle the top of the mixture with a little cinnamon ….put into a moderate oven for 7 mins…in a bowl  place a carton of sour cream, 1 beaten egg, mix well…..about 200g of frozen berries (give or take, the berries I used were  still frozen but you could thaw them), stir gently, I have a lot of colour in mine so I could have stirred a bit too much…..by this time the base should be  ready remove from oven and spread evenly with the mixture, return to the oven cook for a further 25-30 min…..once cooled refrigerate…..and it is yummo…

take care Peg……:>)…………..
